Musical legend & "Purple Rain" star "Prince" Dies at 57

Prince was found dead today (April 21, 2016) at his Paisley Park home in Chanhassen, MN. He was 57 years old. Last week, he was rushed to the hospital with the flu. He recorded an unprecedented 40 studio albums in a career that spanned as many years. His peak was the 1984 rock film, "Purple Rain" in-which he was the star. It was a box office smash & critical favorite. He won the Oscar for Best Musical Score for the film in 1985. It spawned the number #1 hit "When Doves Cry" which according to Billboard Magazine stayed at the top for 7 long weeks.

He has a catalog list of great songs from, "I Wanna Be Your lover", "Little Red Corvette", "1999" to "Purple Rain", "Rasberry Beret" & "Batdance." He also wrote songs for artists to great success & they were mostly female singers, Sheena Easton, Sheila E., Vanity, The Bangles & Chaka Kahn.
