"Innocent Blood" is well made but follows a recycled Cliche

INNOCENT BLOOD on HULU. The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) says, "James Park, a retired undercover detective, faces his worst nightmare when his young son Cody is kidnapped by a mysterious criminal connected to his dark past. As James begins to unravel the criminal's game of vengeance, he and his wife are forced to reconcile his past transgressions and keep their faith as they fight to bring their son home safely."

The setting of Los Angeles looks great. All of the performances were good because of the writing. The problem is, I've seen this story recycled in countless TV episodes. The retired cop who has a violent past that catches up to him. This time the main cast is Asian. The best scene is between James & his father who talk about the present & their stormy past using written cultural language.
