“American Gothic” (CBS) had its'
season finale Wednesday at 9/8 p.m. It aired at 8 p.m. (central time)
in Albuquerque, NM on KRQE 13. Last night's episode on Sept. 7, 2016
was called, “Madame X/Whistler's Mother.” In the overnight TV
ratings it garnered 2.61 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.6
million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic.
"Modern Family" (ABC) grabbed 3.20 overall & 1.0 with
adults (repeat). "America's Got Talent" (NBC) nabbed 10.47
overall & 1.9 with adults.

Leonidas (Sophie Hawthorne) & Virginia Madsen (Madeline
Hawthorne).
“Madame X/Whistler's Mother.” (This
contains Spoilers if you haven't seen the finale). The 2-hour final
episode kept me guessing all the way to the end. I thought the
accomplice to the “silver bells killer” (SBK) was Detective
Cutter who investigated the case. I was wrong. It turned out to be
Sophie Hawthorne who was married to Cam. It turns out she is the
daughter of the real SBK. Her mother died after a car accident and
the hospital took care of the more important patients. The dad and
Sophie began killing those who donated big money to that hospital (1999).
The conclusion had Madeline Hawthorne
paying the price for the people she actually killed. Sophie strangled
her with a belt before Cam could get to her. Madeline had to die
because she killed for no other reason than power and greed. What I
also didn't see coming was Alison who figured it all out on her own.
She confronted Sophie and asked her to kill the mother, to end it all.
Alison was voted mayor of Boston and Sophie got away clean. The end
opened the door for Sophie to return and a possible second TV season.
(Note: I apologize for mistaking Sophie
for Tessa in my Blog posts. I got the names mixed up and kept
wondering why the family kept calling Tessa, “Tessa”, when I
thought her name was Sophie).
