“The death of Gianni Versace.” It
was the 1990's and Versace celebrated the female body on the fashion
runway. He became a designer rock star who was openly gay. Movie
stars and top female models were drawn to him. Versace retreated to
Miami, Florida in 1997 and his fate would be cemented in murder.
Andrew Cunanan loved the celebrity lifestyle who was also gay, but he stayed in the closet to his immediate family. He was
handsome and dynamic who dated older, rich, gay men. Those “sugar daddies” bumped him up into higher social circles. Andrew worshiped Versace who had
fame, money and lived a free gay life.
Andrew never worked for anything in his
young life. He studied Versace closely and then found another older
man who paid for everything. Andrew's life
began to fall apart in 1996 after his latest “sugar daddy” dumped him. He was broke and moved to Minneapolis where he snapped from reality.
Andrew began a murder spree that brought him to Miami and the home of Gianni Versace in 1997.
