ALBUQUERQUE LAW from ROSCOE POND (2026). Hello everyone.... I had an Actor Table Read of my latest written project "Albuquerque Law."
Short Synopsis: Oral arguments outside the courtroom discussing Navajo Indian court cases. Five judges and two opposing lawyers square off behind closed doors. Five cases involve native-themed issues in the state of New Mexico.
The actor table read was excellent (4-25-2026). The performers had strong feelings about each Navajo case. We had an in-depth conversation with each short "Act."
As the Writer & director. I plan to have a Facebook Live performance coming soon. It will be part of my Radio Theater production series.
Below is a recent Postcard of "Albuquerque Law."
Below is the short Promotional video for "Albuquerque Law."
THE GATHERING OF NATIONS (Powwow) will end April 24-25, 2026. It was once considered the largest powwow in the world. It is that way no more. The reason is because of Indian Casino powwows across the United States. They have grown considerably within the last decade. More money given out to contest drummers, singers and dancers. Some casinos give out brand new trucks and cars as prizes.
The controversy surrounding the "Gathering" has always been commercialization and exploitation of modern traditions. The powwow has been around since 1983 and it brought in tons of cash for Albuquerque. "The Final Dance" is the end title for this years, "Gathering." It will be no more after April 25, 2026.
No matter what you say. The "Gathering" has always been commercialized. The organization that runs the powwow has not given the public a reason for the end game. It is very clear that it has become too expensive to run and there is no net profit. Everything costs too much. I recall when a ticket for a single person used to be 7$ dollars. That was back in 1995. That price has blown up to $25 dollars in 2026. It's just way too much for me. I haven't attended in 5 years for that very reason.
Nonetheless.... The powwow community will attend and then move onto the next one. The "Gathering" always kicks off the powwow "trail" for those who compete all spring and summer. That includes drummers, singers and dancers. Is this the end of an era? No, because powwows come and go every year. It's just that the "Gathering" has been around this long which was once the largest powwow in the U.S.

But the defense argued Lucas might have been responsible for his brother’s death."

DATELINE.... (NBC).
MIAMI VICE from UNIVERSAL. The film reboot had rumors swirling with Tom Cruise as "James Sonny Crockett" and Micheal B. Jordan as "Ricardo Rico Tubbs." That was wishful thinking of course with Cruise because of his price tag. It would've been cool though.
The Hollywood talk has ended. Michael B. Jordan (Ricardo Rico Tubbs) and Austin Butler (James Sonny Crocket) have both signed onto the the remake of "Miami Vice" (IMAX 2027). Filming begins in 2026 from Universal pictures. Joseph Kosinski will Direct. As a fan. I can't stand it.!!!
Facebook - "Let's Talk Movies" 2025-26.
This is based on the popular NBC TV crime show, "Miami Vice" (Series Run from 1984 to 1989). Back then, it starred Don Johnson as "Crockett" and Phillip Micheal Thomas as "Tubbs." Both are undercover detectives. It was executive produced by film director Michael Mann.
The show was set in Miami during the 1980's with more style over substance. Fast cars, beautiful women, luxury boats and colorful clothes - worn by the men. Sonny Crockett set a fashion trend with his eye popping jackets, pants and shoes. (I had a few of his jackets. Hah.!).
Michael Mann developed "Vice" into a gritty film (2006) starring Colin Farrell (Crockett) and Jamie Foxx (Tubbs). It was far removed from the stylish TV show. Miami and the illegal drug trade was the hard focus. I'm a big fan and couldn't wait to see it in movie theaters. It also starred the beautiful Asian actress Gong Li. (I was her number #1 fan back then. (I still am - I guess).
"Vice" 2006 grabbed $164 million at the world-wide box office. It was more popular in Foreign countries than in North America. It has made a resurgence over the years and has become a cult favorite. It is still one of my favorites.!
Let's see what 2027 will bring.
Below is from NBC Classics. The original TV trailer for "Miami Vice" 1984.
48 Hours (ABC).... "In 2013, Google executive Forrest Hayes was found dead from a heroin overdose on his yacht. Detectives discovered he was with aspiring model, Alix Tichelman, that night. They also discovered this was not the first time Alix had been with somebody who died of a drug overdose."
"48 Hours" correspondent Maureen Maher reports.
Dateline (NBC).... "After a couple is shot in their home on Lake Tahoe, investigators work to find a masked killer seen on camera at the house. The man convicted of the crime speaks exclusively with Keith Morrison."

20/20 (ABC).... "After a mother and daughter are murdered, investigators encounter a self-proclaimed vampire and taunting letters from a killer." (OAD 2/17/23).
48 HOURS on CBS. Last night's episode was called, "Jade Colvin is Missing" (4/18/2026). Did you watch it? (I did and her mother is insane. She left her own daughter with three men!! It's no wonder she went missing).

CHARLIE'S ANGELS on ABC (1976 to 1981). Has it been 50 years since this show was on? I have to admit that I began watching when Cheryl Ladd (Kris Monroe) joined up. She replaced Farrah Fawcett (Jill Monroe) who left the show after the first TV season.
It was a "juggernaut" as the American culture started to change in the mid-1970's. The rise of the women's movement and social issues being tackled on television. There were only 3 major TV networks back then (ABC-CBS-NBC).
"Angels' became a hit because of three women who were not victims to men. Women came to the rescue as private detectives. Albeit beautiful women. Men tuned in for all of that "jiggle."
Paley-fest honors "Charlie's Angels" on their 50th Anniversary.
