Reboot News 'Cliffhanger' slated for Theatrical Release on Aug. 28, 2026
ROW-K-ENTERTAINMENT picked up the distribution rights to CLIFF-HANGER. It is scheduled for theatrical release on Aug. 28, 2026. (It was on the list for release back on April 3, 2026). The film stars Lily James and Pierce Brosnan.
This is a re-imagining of the 1993 thriller "Cliffhanger" that starred Sylvester Stallone. It was a box office smash nabbing $255 million worldwide. Stallone was preparing to star in the sequel, but it never materialized. He was attached to the project until 2024. Several film directors had also dropped out over the years. "Cliffhanger 2" has been green-lit for production in 2025. There is no word if Stallone is attached.
"Cliffhanger"(2026) has finished filming and is in post production. There is no movie trailer and the only publicity is a poster with Lily James climbing a mountain. It sounds like a struggling production on the financial end. The word is that it won't even be released this August. It might go straight-to-digital and/or on demand. Who knows?
Please ignore the fake trailers of "Cliffhanger 2" on YouTube. Plus, the AI generated movie posters with several male film stars (including Sly Stallone). I have a feeling it may never be produced - 33 years later.
AI Trailer 'Hell Grind' private screening May 21, 2026
HELL GRIND is an AI generated movie from the "Higgsfield" platform. The production budget reached $500,000. The teaser trailer premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. A one night screening will be held May 21, 2026 for industry filmmakers.
The "Higgsfield" platform wants to test out a full length AI generated movie. IMO.. The trailer looks pretty bad. The story is cliche and the AI effects are not up to par.

Box Office News 'Michael' reaches $424 Million world wide May 3, 2026
MICHAEL from LIONS-GATE pictures (2026. This Bio-pic stars Jaafar Jackson who portrays his uncle Michael Jackson. Jaafar is the son of Jermaine Jackson. Michael's older brother.
The production budget climbed to $155 million.
Note: I saw "Michael" twice in IMAX and plan to see it again. I grew up in the 1980's and Michael Jackson is my Idol.
As of May 3, 2026. This Bio-pic has grossed $183,803,832 million at the North American box office. It reached $280,620,765 million at the Foreign box office. The world-wide box office has grabbed $423,925,832 million.

Universal Pictures swaps movie calendar with 'The Mummy' & 'Miami Vice 85'
UNIVERSAL PICTURES (2026). The movie studio has swapped their upcoming releases with two big films.
"The Mummy 4" reboot has been moved from May 19, 2028 and up to October 15, 2027. Branden Fraser and Rachel Weisz will reprise their original roles (1999).
I've been a big "Mummy" fan since the 1930's. I can't wait for this next one and am glad Branden and Rachel are returning to the 4th film. (I even liked the Tom Cruise "Mummy" that everyone hated).
Universal Pictures has moved "Miami Vice-85" from August 6, 2027 and forward to May 19, 2028.
