Classic Movie Flashback 'Return of the Jedi' 1983 with Harrison Ford
RETURN OF THE JEDI distributed by 20th CENTURY FOX (1983). This is the 3rd film in the first trilogy of movies, (Star Wars 1977 - The Empire Strikes Back 1980 - Return of the Jedi 1983). There are prequels and more sequels. Plus, stand alone movies and TV series.... Honestly, I lost count and only watched the first three films.
The 1983 "Jedi" production budget climbed to $42 million but grossed a massive $374 million worldwide. It became the highest grossing movie of that year. It was later re-released into theaters and the total gross climbed to $482 million.
"Jedi" continues the fight between the galactic empire and the freedom fighters of the rebel alliance. Luke Skywalker tries to bring Darth Vader back to "The Force."
Good Grief - I was 18-years-old in 1983 and I watched "Jedi" late in the summer. It was so much fun. A popcorn movie.
I actually never watched the "Star Wars" trilogy since and not even on VHS home video. Nor DVD and BluRay. I'd like to see "Jedi" again though.
Below is the original 1983 movie trailer.
