URBAN COWBOY from PARAMOUNT PICTURES (1980). It starred John Travolta and Debra Winger. The production budget climbed to $10 million. It grabbed $53 million in movie theaters.
The movie story takes place at Mickey Gilley's Hony Tonk bar, "Gilley's" in Pasadena, Texas. Mickey recorded "Stand By Me" (number #1) on the movie soundtrack which was a huge selling album. The film brought country music into the mainstream.
