There will be new evidence proving that there was more than one suspect in the murder of Hae Min Lee (1999). Adnan Syed was convicted in her death and received a "Life" sentence plus 30 years.
TIMELINE
- 2022 - Adnan's conviction was vacated and the murder charges were dropped. He was released from prison.
- 2023 - Appellate Court re-instated the murder charges for 60 days.
- 2024 - State of Maryland Supreme Court re-instated charges & ordered a new hearing.
- 2025 - A judge re-sentenced Adan to "Time Served." His conviction is upheld, but he remains free.
I was one-of-millions who listened to the SERIAL podcast on the murder of Hae Min Lee. Like others, I tried to solve her murder and thought Adnan Syed was innocent. It was a fascinating podcast that helped free him from prison.
But..., the mystery remains. Who killed Hae Min Lee back in 1999? Maybe this update on Adnan's case will give us some answers.
