The 32nd annual "Actor Awards" (SAG-AFTRA) was presented live on "Netflix" last night (3-1-2026). As a union member I voted for my favorite acting performances. I was thrilled to see "Mission Impossible 8: The Final Reckoning" win the award for Best Stunt Ensemble in a movie. Tom Cruise did his own stunts in the film and it was fantastic.
I saw MI8 six times in an IMAX theater which is the only way to view it.
Critics and entertainment magazines claimed that MI8 was a box office bomb in 2025. I beg to differ....
The MI8 production budget climbed to a hefty $400 million. That included public relations promotion. The world-wide box office reached $598 million. The International box office nabbed $401 million which covered the budget. The North American box office grabbed $197 million. Which is Paramount's end profit. That is hardly a bomb which doesn't include Digital/Video-on-Demand plus Blu-Ray and DVD sales.
