ROW-K-ENTERTAINMENT picked up the distribution rights to CLIFF-HANGER. It is scheduled for theatrical release on Aug. 28, 2026. (It was on the list for release back on April 3, 2026). The film stars Lily James and Pierce Brosnan.
This is a re-imagining of the 1993 thriller "Cliffhanger" that starred Sylvester Stallone. It was a box office smash nabbing $255 million worldwide. Stallone was preparing to star in the sequel, but it never materialized. He was attached to the project until 2024. Several film directors had also dropped out over the years. "Cliffhanger 2" has been green-lit for production in 2025. There is no word if Stallone is attached.
"Cliffhanger"(2026) has finished filming and is in post production. There is no movie trailer and the only publicity is a poster with Lily James climbing a mountain. It sounds like a struggling production on the financial end. The word is that it won't even be released this August. It might go straight-to-digital and/or on demand. Who knows?
