U.S. Box Office report for the Weekend of Dec. 18-20, 2015

Well, if you've been living under a rock & didn't know it. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opened in North America to a whopping $238 million at the box office. It has also gained $517 million at the Foreign box office. It's breaking records. I get a kick out of watching the fanatics dressing up as Star Wars characters. The "Century Rio 24" in Albuquerque asked fans not to dress up because of gun threats. So, I didn't see anything but people standing in line.

According to Box Office Mojo that tracks box office receipts. Below is the 3 top films over the weekend of Dec. 18-20, 2015.
  1. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with $238 Million.
  2. "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip" with $14 Million.
  3. "Sisters" with $13 Million.
