'48 Hours' A wife flees back to her home country after husband's murder

48 HOURS (CBS) can be seen each Saturday evening at 10/9 p.m. It aired at 9 p.m. (central time) on the Albuquerque TV station KRQE 13. Last night’s episode on Nov. 25, 2017 was called, “A Brother’s Mission.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.18 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.6 million TV viewers in the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “Dateline” (NBC) grabbed 2.9 overall & 0.5 with adults. “Saturday Night College Football” (ABC) nabbed 8.81 overall & 1.2 with adults (8-11 p.m.).  

“48 Hours” is a news program that covers crime and murder in the United States. Last night’s episode was reported and narrated by Erin Moriarty. 

“A Brother’s Mission.” Ohio 2007. Major Karl Hoerig was found shot to death in his home. His wife Claudia bought a .357 Magnum gun a few days before Karl’s death. She then emptied her bank account and fled back to her home country of Brazil. She was then charged with the murder of her husband. Brazilian residents could never be extradited from their own country. It has taken 10 years with no justice in Karl’s death. Police authorities noticed that Claudia became a U.S., citizen back in 1989. She could be extradited back to the U.S.
