'48 Hours' A serial killer of women was a charming man

48 HOURS (CBS) can be seen each Saturday evening at 10/9 p.m. It aired at 9 p.m. (central time) on the Albuquerque TV station KRQE 13. The recent episode on Feb. 17, 2018 was called, “The Killing Game.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 3.21 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.4 million TV viewers in the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “Winter Olympics” (NBC) grabbed 13.62 overall & 3.2 with adults (8-11p.m). “20/20” (ABC) nabbed 2.02 overall & 0.4 with adults.

“48 Hours” is a news program that covers crime and murder in the United States. Saturday night’s episode was reported and narrated by Peter Van Sant. 

The Killing Game.” Rodney Alcala was a photographer who took pictures of women and girls. He is a charming man who once appeared on the 1970’s TV show, “The Dating Game.” Tali Shapiro lived in California who was abducted by Rodney while she walked to school. A witness saw him with the girl and called police. Tali was later found near death in the kitchen of Rodney’s home. She survived, but he fled to New York. The FBI put him on the “most wanted” list, but couldn’t track him down. His next victim was Cornelia Michael Crilley who had been stripped naked and strangled to death. Her murder went cold for years and Rodney went on a killing spree throughout the 1970’s. Can police finally catch up with him?
