'Dateline' episode 'Life Inside' nabs 3.31 TV ratings overall

The DATELINE (NBC) episode called, "Life Inside" had aired Friday night (9/6/2019) at 10/9 p.m. It was reported by Lester Holt. In the overnight TV ratings. It garnered 3.31 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.6 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic. "20/20" (ABC) grabbed 3.38 overall & 0.5 with adults. "Blood Bloods" (CBS) 3.98 overall & 0.4 with adults.
"Life Inside." Angola at Louisiana used to be a slave owner plantation. It is now a prison for the state's most violent criminals. Lester Holt spent three days behind bars so he could experience what it is like inside. He slept in a cell used for death-row inmates. 

He talks not only to inmates, but to prison employees and advocates on prison reform. Holt found that most of the inmates are black men. The interesting fact about this prison which is similar to others in the U.S. Non-violent inmates are treated like violent criminals. Plus, mass incarceration is a big problem. Holt asks the question "Is this prison a punishment for non-violent inmates?"
