The Corona-Virus (COVID-19) is still raging across the United States. Regal Cinemas announced they will close all of their 536 theaters beginning Thursday Oct. 8, 2020. That will put 40,000 employees out of work.
The main reason for the decision to shut down is because of COVID-19. Other factors include the Hollywood studios who aren't releasing new films. Also, blockbuster movies are being pushed forward into 2021. All because of no attendance inside of theaters.
New Mexico and New York are the only states in the country who have not re-opened movie theaters.
The AMC and Cinemark Theater chains say they will remain open.
