PRIMETIME from A24 (2026). This is based on an "Esquire" magazine article written by Luke Dittrich from 2007. That article was titled, "Tonight on Dateline This Man Will Die."
An assistant district attorney Bill Conradt committed suicide right before he was to appear on "To Catch a Predator" (2004-07 NBC). The show confronts sex predators after they contact under-age minors (fake). Chris Hansen is the news reporter who instead meets up with these predators. The show made news after this DA committed suicide.
"Primetime" chronicles the rise and the fall of the show. Robert Pattison is receiving rave reviews as Chris Hansen. (A possible Oscar nomination?). Hansen says he will see the movie the weekend of Sept. 25, 2026. He has criticized it before watching the film. Pattison hopes that Hansen likes it. Critics are also praising it as a near horror film of an NBC show.
Note: As a Dateline fan. I watched "Predator" weekly until it ended in 2007. I'm walking into a movie theater to watch this.
