4-hour 'Leaving Neverland' documentary will premiere on HBO spring 2019

LEAVING NEVERLAND for HBO. The 4 hour documentary had its' premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2019. It received a standing ovation from the audience. Dan Reed is the film's director who says it is not about Michael Jackson. It is about the stories of sexual abuse by a predatory adult male (Jackson) against two boys, Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck.

Michael Jackson passed away in 2009. Both Wade and Jimmy claimed that Michael never sexually abused them when they were boys in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Four years after his death in 2013. They filed lawsuits against the Jackson family estate claiming they were both sexually abused by Michael. A judge dismissed the ($$) billion dollar lawsuits in 2017.

The documentary provides no physical evidence that Michael Jackson abused these two men who were boys. The filmmakers rely solely on Wade and Jimmy's repressed recollections from 20 years ago. Dan Reed says that it is their stories to tell and not Michael Jackson. The Jackson family estate calls documentary "one-sided" and "untrue."

You can read the Dan Reed interview over at Rolling Stone magazine.

You can read a review of "Leaving Neverland" over at the Hollywood Reporter.

There is no HBO trailer of this controversial documentary at this time.

Business Insider says, "The Punisher 2' drops in TV viewership from first hit series

THE PUNISHER 2 on NET-FLIX. The second TV season has already premiered at the online streaming giant. Netflix rarely announces TV ratings unless it is massive. For instance -"Bird Box" with Sandra Bullock nabbed 45 million viewers with their latest reports.

"Business Insider" says that the Marvel series, "The Punisher 2" has dropped 40% in viewership from the first series. If you look at the percentage graph. The 13 episode series is still grabbing a good audience after "binge" watching. I only viewed Episode 1 so far and it is "action packed." I plan to watch the remaining episodes soon.

SAG Award Winners 2019

Hello everyone - The 2019 SAG Awards are over. I believe the SAG-AFTRA New Mexico branch did not have a viewing party this year. Correct me if I am wrong. The local SAG-AFTRA board decided to use "local" money funds in other areas - other than a viewing party.

Nonetheless - I am a paid up union member and I vote every year. I chose 4 of the 13 winners last night. (I served on the TV nominating committee way back in 2010-11).

2019 Oscar Nominations Announced

The 91st Academy Awards will be broadcast Sunday, February 24 live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland. The Oscar nominations were announced. (I will not re-post videos because there are too many commentators talking on and on. They don't get to the nominations fast enough. Plus, the live announcement has long stretches of blank space in between categories).

'48 Hours' episode 'Knock Knock' climbs to 4.12 TV ratings overall

48 Hours” (CBS) can be seen each Saturday night at 10/9 p.m. It was aired at (9 p.m.) on the local KRQE 13 station at Albuquerque. Last night’s episode on Jan. 19, 2019 was called, “Knock Knock.” In the overnight TV ratings it had garnered 4.12 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.4 million TV viewers in the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “NBA basketball” (ABC) grabbed 2.65 overall & 0.9 with adults. “SNL live” (NBC) nabbed 2.85 overall & 0.7 with adults.
“48 Hours” is a news program that covers murder & mystery in the United States. Last night’s episode was reported and narrated by Richard Schlesinger.

Knock Knock.” Starkville, Mississippi 1990. There was a knock on the door. Betty Jones and Kathryn Crigle were watching TV. The home invasion resulted in the murders of both women. This case remained cold for decades. Jason B. Jones was the step-grandson of Betty. These killings had haunted him ever since 1990. So, he launched a podcast called, “Knock Knock” in 2017. It was an investigation into the murders of Betty and Kathryn. Jason thought his podcast would take time to get some real answers. Did he get those answers?

'Dateline' is not streaming the episode called, 'Accused'

DATELINE  on NBC. Last night's episode was called, "Accused" which aired on Friday Jan. 18, 2019. In the overnight TV ratings in garnered 3.13 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.6 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic. The network is not streaming the episode online.

"Accused" is an investigative report by Andrea Canning on R&B singer "R. Kelly." This comes on the heels of a 6-part "Lifetime" cable TV docu-series "Surviving R. Kelly." It nabbed a massive 18 million TV viewers. I didn't watch that series.

I did watch last night's episode on "Dateline." I thought Andrea Canning asked all the right questions in this report. It bothers me that a parent had let their 13-year-old daughter stay overnight with an adult male celebrity. I guess because R. Kelly is a renowned R&B singer who has fame and fortune. It is okay which clearly, it isn't.

There is no "evidence" showing R. Kelly with all these teen girls. It may be hard to bring into a court-of-law. But -- if Bill Cosby can be charged by only the "word" of multiple women. So can R. Kelly, which hasn't happened in 2019. Him and his lawyer deny every allegation and calls them "lies."

'Hawaii Five-0' episode 'Ke Iho Mai Nei Ko Luna' hits 7.55 TV ratings overall

Hawaii Five-0” (NBC) can be seen each Friday night at 9/8 p.m. It was seen at (8 p.m.) on the local KRQE TV station at Albuquerque. Last night’s episode on Jan. 18, 2019 was called, “Ke Iho Mai Nei Ko Luna.” In the overnight TV ratings it had garnered 7.55 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.8 million TV viewers in the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “The Blacklist” (NBC) grabbed 4.04 overall & 0.6 with adults. “20/20” (ABC) nabbed 4.78 overall & 0.8 with adults.

Ke Iho Mai Nei Ko Luna.” Grace recovers from her car accident who is tired of Danno’s care-taking. Steve gets him out of the house because of a homicide. A “John Doe” washed up on the beach. His throat is slit and there was no water in his lungs. He was found at the bottom of the ocean. The team finds a lab called, “Neptune 1” that has been built underneath. They had lost communication with that lab. Tani, Junior and Adam dive down toward the lab which is now a crime scene.
