1990 down-fall of fake-music duo 'Milli-Vanilli'

MILLI-VANILLI (Rob Pilatus & Fab Morvan).... When news broke on the 1998 death of Rob Pilatus. The jokes began on whether it was really Rob's dead body or that it was fake. He died of an accidental overdose of drugs & alcohol. His body was found inside a German hotel room.

Rob's death came 8 years after the news broke about "Milli-Vanilli." They didn't sing a note on their multi-platinum album, "Girl you know it's true" (1989). They won the Grammy for "Best New Artist" (1990) and soon were forced to return that award.... Every performance by Rob and Fab was a lip-sync. Even during the live Grammy awards.

It was a huge scandal at the time because of the 7 million+ sales of that album. It spawned Five-Top-Five-Hits and Three Number #1 songs. Rob and Fab were also packaged as good-looking, music super-stars by an ambitious producer.... Overnight - They lost everything and became a joke in the music industry.

Several documentaries have been made about the duo - since that scandal. Even a movie was planned about the fall of "Milli-Vanilli." It hasn't been made.... The surviving member Fab Morvan had actually begun singing and recorded an Album/CD.

(1989 number #1 smash, "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You." It is still my favorite after 30 years. Even though it was a Lip-Sync job.).
