SECRET from CJ ENTERTAINMENT (2009). This mystery/thriller is on my top list (1980-2010) of favorite murder & mystery movies. It came to the United States one full year after it opened in Korea. I got a chance to watch it inside an independent theater at Los Angeles. The film grabbed $6 million at the world-wide box office.
New Line Cinema partnered up with CJ Entertainment and announced a Hollywood retelling of "Secret" (2013). Producer's Guy Stodel and Jiwon Park had chosen Peter O’Brien to write the screenplay (2014).
"Secret" is the story about a male homicide detective at Seoul, Korea. He investigates a murder where evidence is found at the crime scene that belongs to his estranged wife. He protects her by destroying that evidence.
What was she doing at the crime scene? Did she commit murder?.... As the investigation moved forward. There are many twists and turns which made this an exciting mystery/thriller. I was on the edge of my seat while watching this.
It is now the year 2021.... There is no word on this Hollywood remake.
