The 'Dateline' episode 'The Phone Call' nabs 2.74 TV Ratings Overall

The DATELINE (NBC) episode called, "The Phone Call" aired Friday night (4/16/2021) at 9/8 p.m. In the overnight TV ratings. It garnered 2.74 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.4 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic. "20/20" (ABC) grabbed 3.32 overall & 0.5 with adults. "Magnum PI" (CBS) 5.35 overall & 0.5 with adults.

"The Phone Call." Kansas City 2008. Kathleen Scroll made a phone call to her mother. She claimed that Pete Coones was killing her husband and she was going to be next. Kathleen's brother called 911 emergency saying that Pete might have killed two people. The time was 2:30 a.m., in the morning.

When police arrived at Kathleen's house. She was found dead by a gunshot wound to the head. Her husband Carl was also bludgeoned to death. Pete was arrested.... His family provided police with Pete's alibi the night Kathleen and Carl were killed. He was still convicted in the murder of Kathleen, but not Carl. There was no evidence connecting Pete to the crime scene. 

There are many twists in this story. It is one of "Dateline's" best mystery episodes of 2021.
