Tokyo Olympics: U.S Men botch baton pass & don't qualify in 4x100 relay

TOKYO / OLYMPICS/ 2020. The Men's 4x100 relay. The American men have not won a medal since 2004 (silver). The problem has been the passing of the batons around the track.

Tokyo is no different as the American men place 6th in a preliminary-heat. The baton pass from the second leg to the third leg cost them a chance to qualify for the final. It also looks like the Americans didn't practice either. The athletes admitted to it the media later. It was a total embarrassment for the U.S.

The baton pass between Fred Kerley and Ronnie Baker took nearly 3 seconds. Plus, it looked like the anchor-leg, Cravon Gellespie, just gave up in the last 10 meters.... How hard is it to pass a baton?
