Excellent 'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning' with Tom Cruise 2025

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: THE FINAL RECKONING from PARAMOUNT pictures (2025). This was originally one movie with two parts. It was supposed to be the final send off to Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). COVID-19 and THE SAG-AFTRA strike put off the filming of part two. The producers separated it and created another movie called, "The Final Reckoning."

Part One was titled, "MI-7: The Dead Reckoning Part One." It brought back characters from the 1996 original "Mission Impossible." That was fun to watch and as a big fan. I watched it 5 times in a movie theater and 7 times on BluRay.

"The Dead Reckoning" is the 8th and reported final "Mission Impossible." I won't give anything away, but after 30 years and 8 films. Ethan Hunt revisits his first mission from 1996. I loved the nostalgia and it fit into the current mission.

The story is simple. Ethan Hunt and his arch enemy Gabriel chase after the "Entity." It is a powerful internet program that could control the world. They both meet up in the "MI-7: Dead Reckoning." It's a physical plus mental "battle" over a special key which opens the "Entity." Action from Ethan drives everything.

As the story continues with "MI-8: The Final Reckoning." Gabriel steals a numbers program from Luther who created it to control the "Entity." Gabriel then disappears. Ethan gives up that special key to the CIA. He asks Madam President (Angela Bassett) to give him 3 days to retrieve a box from the "Entity" which sank into the sea with a Russian submarine. That box matches the program Gabriel has.

I have to say... I was on the edge of my seat when Ethan jumped into the dark sea. He had to race against the "Russians" and "Time" plus the "Cold Water Elements." It was the ultimate "Mission Impossible." When Ethan "dived" and "swam" toward that sunken submarine. It was incredible to watch on the "big" movie screen. Then - The two flying airplanes reminded me of the 1927 silent film, "Wings." Plus, Ethan hanging from one plane in the air. It was fantastic to watch.!!!

"Mission Impossible 8: The Final Reckoning" is now in movie theaters (May 26, 2025).
