"Dateline" won the Sunday night TV ratings with update on O.J. Simpson

DATELINE on NBC. "The People vs. O.J. Simpson" was a 2-hour update on the Trial of the Century (9-11 p.m.). It garnered 5.91 million TV viewers overall & won Sunday night in TV viewership (March 6, 2016). Josh Mankiewicz reported & interviewed Marcia Clark 21 years later. NBC posted interviews on their website. It is unclear if they will post the 2-hour episode online. If so, I'll TV recap with complete overnight TV ratings.

Over the weekend, it was reported that a man had found a knife buried in the former O.J. Simpson estate. L.A. police are now studying that knife for DNA evidence (2016). This story will never die.

PBS "Mr. Selfridge" returns on March 27, 2016.

MR. SELFRIDGE on PBS. (March 27, 2016). The 4th TV season will have the sexy Lady Loxley come back under a new name. We all missed her last Season. I hope her nasty ex-husband Lord Loxley returns too because he & Harry Selfridge are great enemies. The period drama is based on the real life of Harry Selfridge who ran a department store in London in the early 1900's.

"Downton Abbey" Lady Rose returns for Lady Edith's wedding

DOWNTON ABBEY on PBS. Lady Edith finally gets married & what a relief. Lady Rose returns for wedding. Head butler, Mr. Carson has a form of "palsy" where his right hand can't stop shaking. He is forced to retire & that's why he's been so nasty this TV season. I thought Thomas Barrow would work for the Lady Dowager, but he gets Carson's job as head butler. Mr. Spratt who is the Dowager's butler writes a column under a woman's name & he is a Hit with readers in Edith's magazine. I wish they would give him a spin-off because he's so funny. The Season Finale ends in 1925 after 6 years of tumultuous TV drama & great writing. It will be missed.

"Jane Got a Gun" grosses $1.5 million at U.S theaters

JANE GOT A GUN stars Natalie Portman 2016. It has already left Albuquerque Theaters & will soon hit the $1 theater. It went into limited release last February & grossed $1.5 million. The much troubled production was filmed entirely at Santa Fe, New Mexico back in 2013. The Foreign release was halted when terrorist's attacked Paris, France 2015, where the premiere was to take place.

"48 Hours" 10-year-old girl plays "dead' after family is killed

48 HOURS on CBS. did you watch last night's episode "Live to Tell: Sole Survivor?." The family of a 10-year-old girl is killed. She is shot too, but plays "dead" and survives. The man who committed the murders almost got the death penalty with one juror holdout who wanted life without parole. What a brave, brave little girl.

"48 Hours" Beautiful model has premonition her boyfriend might kill her

48 HOURS on CBS. Did you watch last night's episode called, "Trail of Tears?." First of all, I think Rhonda's disgusting mother pushed her into going after Stephen. He was rich and even after Rhonda's tragic death by falling off a 150 foot cliff. The mother spent her granddaughter's monthly checks. Stephen is now heading to trial for murder in 2016. A grand jury heard supposed evidence from a prosecutor who received notes from a novelist. He wrote a book on Rhonda's death inside the Columbia River Gorge. There is no evidence that Stephen pushed Rhonda. He does have an excellent defense lawyer. He grilled everyone on the Witness Stand during the preliminary hearings.

"Dateline" A family feud gets caught up in a double murder

DATELINE on NBC. Did you watch last night's episode called, "The Deed?." I think that prosecutor is an S.O.B. He got it all wrong, but he believes Bambi killed her mom and stepdad for 'the deed" which was hers to begin with. I don't think she did it because there is no evidence placing her in the farm home. Boy, the police can be ruthless when they want to charge anyone with murder. I'm glad she is now having a relationship with her sons.

"Baby Peggy" child star of 1920's Silent Films was has-been at age 6

BABY PEGGY. She was the first child star of Silent Films to receive $1 million a picture. Yet, when the movie studio dumped her. She became a has-been at age 6 & her parents spent her fortune. She was reduced to background extra work in the 1930's when talking pictures took over silent movies. Baby Peggy is 97-years-old now & she talks to the Hollywood Reporter.

Oregon: 14 more Federal Indictments against Militia group

NEWS FROM MY HOME STATE OF OREGON: Cliven Bundy & 4 of his sons now sit in federal prison. Cliven himself was extradited back to Nevada to face 16 federal charges during the 2014 standoff at Nevada. A judge ordered him to seek out a defense lawyer because he has enough money to afford one. This was Friday March 4, 2016. 

Meanwhile, 14 leaders of the militia during the 2014 Nevada standoff have been arrested & each face 16 federal charges. 2 of them are sitting in an Oregon prison for their part in the take over of the Mahleur National Wildlife Refuge. Each federal charge brings a maximum of 6 years in prison if found guilty. 

Ammon Bundy says prison is the hardest thing he has ever experienced & doesn't regret what he did. A judge ordered David Fry to remain in prison until his trial. He is too much a danger to the public. He was the last remaining hold out at the refuge. He has pleaded Not Guilty to his federal charge & so has the 24 other militia who took over the Refuge in Oregon.

EXAMINER NEWS: One of Roscoe's articles finally hits top #10 in rankings

THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA on NBC. (S02E16). I can't believe it, but it's true. My article on the Season Finale of "Laura" reached number #9 on the Popular Rankings with Examiner News. A first, since I've been writing on TV crime with Entertainment. And it is such a crowded field of writers. The episode is called, "The mystery of the end of watch" and it was really good. Laura confessed her love for Jake who bought an engagement ring for Jennifer. It was a cliffhanger & he has to choose.

"Elementary" An elderly woman falls to her death from 10 story building

ELEMENTARY on CBS. (S04E15). Did you watch last night's episode called, "Up to heaven and down to hell?." Sherlock & Watson investigate the death of an elderly woman who leaves all money to her prize dog. Also, Captain Gregson rekindles an old relationship & it turns out she has multiple sclerosis. He loves her anyway.

"Hawaii Five-0" this week is a repeat, repeat, repeat!

HAWAII FIVE-0 on CBS. (S06E02). This week's episode a repeat from earlier this TV season. It is called 'Ashes to Ashes." If you missed it. It airs Friday March 4, 2016 at 9/8 p.m. (I will not TV recap for Examiner News).

The GATHERING OF NATIONS PowWow runs April 28, 29, 30, 2016 at Albuquerque, NM. The "Miss Indian World Pageant" is seeking contestants & the deadline to submit is March 20. (I will of course be reporting from the ground floor of the PowWow).

An all new "48 Hours" Saturday March 5, 2016 at 10/9 p.m.

48 HOURS on CBS goes to my home state of Oregon & the Columbia River Gorge where a young woman falls to her death while hiking. It's called, "Trail of Tears."

CBS says, "A couple's mountain hike turns deadly. She had a haunting premonition - did she predict her own murder? "48 Hours" correspondent Peter Van Sant investigates."

48 HOURS on CBS. The episode is called "Live to Tell: Sole Survivor" & it will air at a special time Saturday night at 9/8 p.m. 

CBS says, "A young girl plays dead to live through a shooting that destroyed her family -- and describes her remarkable story of survival. Erin Moriarty reports on March 5, 2016."

"The Mysteries of Laura" Season Finale has Jake choosing Laura or Jen

THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA on NBC. (S02E16). Did you watch last night's Season Finale called, "The mystery of the end of watch?." Laura's police precinct deals with the death of captain Santiani. Also, Jake buys an engagement ring for Jen & Laura finds out about it. She confronts him who has to choose between them. It's a Cliffhanger Folks! There better be a Season 3 or I'm gonna be mad.

KOB 4 News: Recordings of Rick Schimmel who was fired from Santa Fe Indian School

SANTA FE INDIAN SCHOOL (SFIS). KOB 4 news obtained voice recordings from Santa Fe police of Rick Schimmel. Him & his wife Ceci were fired from SFIS after an altercation with St. Michaels School during a game on Feb. 17, 2016. Both high school's met on the "racial slurs" which Rick accused the opposing team of saying. They couldn't find any evidence of name calling of racism. 

SFIS sent both Rick & Ceci letters of why they were terminated. Even though Ceci told the Albuquerque Journal that she didn't know why she was fired. She & her daughter Shoni were ejected from several games in 2015 because they were verbally abusive to referee's. Those incidents were reported to the New Mexico Athletics Association.

Throw Back Thursday: Pendleton High School Coach dies

We all called him Coach Stephens when we were cross country runners at Pendleton High School at Pendleton, Oregon. I received my first PHS Letter from Coach when I beat a Senior running time during a track meet as a Sophomore. (It was a long time ago). If I remember correctly, Coach caused some controversy when he pushed for our cross country girls to be voted as Homecoming Queen & Princesses. Students were so angry, but it was based on voting by high school boys. I don't even remember who I voted for. Coach was always supportive even when I left PHS for CIS at Salem, Oregon my senior year. Rest in Peace. - Roscoe Pond

UPDATE: Investigation reveals no Racial Slurs were made toward "Braves"

THE SANTA FE NEW MEXICAN reports that both administrations from "St. Michaels School" & "Santa Fe Indian School" (SFIS) met over the incident report of Racial Slurs against SFIS. They cannot find any truth with one team calling the SFIS Native team "Prairie N*****S." Rick Schimmel was fired from SFIS as JV basketball coach & head baseball coach. His Wife Ceci Moses was also fired as head boys basketball coach of SFIS. It was after an altercation during a basketball game on Sunday 17, 2016.
