TV star of 'Alice' Polly Holliday dies at 88

Actress Polly Holliday portrayed wise-cracking "Flo" on ALICE for CBS (1976-1980). Plus, the TV spin-off "Flo" (1980-1981). Her character catch-phrase was "Kiss My Grits" which became a national phenomenon. Flo also said, "When Pigs Fly."

We used to watch the TV series when it ran in Syndication during the daytime. Flo was a "hoot" to watch. Actress Polly Holliday never spoke her character catch phrase in public. She also never said it after both TV sitcoms ended. Fans around the world said it for her all of the time.... "Mel, Kiss My Grits!!"

The actress portrayed other characters on TV. The most memorable was on "The Golden Girls." She played the blind sister of Rose Niland. RIP....

Week 4 of Quarterfinals Last Group 'America's Got Talent' 2025

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC (2025). The winner will receive a headline show at Las Vegas, Nevada. Plus, $1 million dollars.

Last night was full of great performances. Some of the talent acts stepped up their game and it was fun to watch. 

America has voted and the top three below head into the Semi-Finals.

• Zak Mirz.

Team Recycled - Received the Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mandel. They will also head into the Semi-Finals.

All of my votes went to the balancing act duo "TT Boys." They were so good.

HBO/MAX Trailer 'The Case Against Adnan Syed Pt. 5' streaming Sept. 18, 2025

THE CASE AGAINST ADNAN SYED-PT. 5 on HBO/MAX (2025). It will stream on Sept. 18, 2025. This will be a continuation of the 4-part series from 2019.

There will be new evidence proving that there was more than one suspect in the murder of Hae Min Lee (1999). Adnan Syed was convicted in her death and received a "Life" sentence plus 30 years.

TIMELINE

• 2022 - Adnan's conviction was vacated and the murder charges were dropped. He was released from prison.
• 2023 - Appellate Court re-instated the murder charges for 60 days.
• 2024 - State of Maryland Supreme Court re-instated charges & ordered a new hearing.
• 2025 - A judge re-sentenced Adan to "Time Served." His conviction is upheld, but he remains free.

I was one-of-millions who listened to the SERIAL podcast on the murder of Hae Min Lee. Like others, I tried to solve her murder and thought Adnan Syed was innocent. It was a fascinating podcast that helped free him from prison.

But..., the mystery remains. Who killed Hae Min Lee back in 1999? Maybe this update on Adnan's case will give us some answers.
