It was called at the time "Rathergate." Dan Rather was the news anchor for the "CBS EVENING NEWS." He lost that position & his producers also lost their jobs. This after a news segment saying President George W. Bush went AWOL from his post during the Vietnam War. That story would later be questioned by critics as false.
Now, Robert Redford is portraying Dan Rather in this movie about that incident. The real Dan Rather gave his blessings for filmmakers to make the movie. It opens in theaters Oct. 16, 2015. I can't wait to see it.
