EARTH, WIND & FIRE mixed Soul with Funk back in the 1970's. Disco was huge, but their hit song "Boogie Wonderland" had this great Funk Groove to it. Maurice White had a great lead voice & he will be missed. He had to withdraw from singing because of Parkinson disease. RIP.
Below is the 1978 Natalie Cole TV special where "Earth, Wind & Fire" performed a medley of their hits. Natalie even joined in at the end. She passed away on New Years Eve 2015. (Don't let the blurred screenshot fool you. It's a great 8 minute clip).
