SAG-AFTRA concerns to 'Senior' union members - under health plan

 Dear Members,

"Our union has been deeply concerned that many of our senior members have had a harder time qualifying for the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan under the new guidelines. With an understanding of the limited options available to the Health Plan trustees, SAG-AFTRA lobbied for and achieved the fully subsidized COBRA option for those who lost eligibility. The union has heard directly from members how helpful this has been but knew this wouldn’t be enough."

"Fortunately, as an affiliate of the AFL-CIO, SAG-AFTRA is able to take advantage of the tremendous work of our national labor allies and friends. That’s why SAG-AFTRA is pleased to let you know about a new Medicare Advantage product for SAG-AFTRA senior members."

"Working together, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, benefits powerhouse Union Plus, and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield used the power of our movement’s collective strength to create new options that will truly benefit not just SAG-AFTRA senior members, but seniors from organized labor across the nation."

"If you are a senior member 65 and over, you can review your options and find out more about enrolling by contacting Entertainment Health Insurance Solutions or Artists Health Insurance Resource Center."

"When we unite our forces, our collective strength is magnified. We gain the leverage and resources to be able to offer this new healthcare option for our treasured seniors, who deserve dignity, respect and the peace of mind that comes with these new healthcare options."

Yours in solidarity,

Gabrielle Carteris

SAG-AFTRA President

AFL-CIO Executive Council Member
