Oscar winner Robert Duvall 'Tender Mercies' & TV's 'Lonesome Dove' dies at 95

Robert Duvall is one of my favorite actors of all time. He passed on at age 95 and he will be missed. His movie & TV performances will live on forever.

Fans and critics are going to choose his popular acting roles in, "Apocalypse Now" and "The Godfather." I enjoyed those performances. But, my favorites are in "The Great Santini" (1979) and the western TV mini-series, "Lonesome Dove" (1989). I have watched each one so many times that I know the dialogue by heart.

I've seen his Oscar winning role in "Tender Mercies" (1983) multiple times. He portrays an aging country singer and it was so good. I also watched, "The Apostle" (1997) and thought he deserved the Oscar as Best Actor that year. Duvall was made for the Western too, "Open Range" (2003), "A Night in Old Mexico" (2013), "Wild Horses" (2015).

There are too many wonderful performances to list... Rest in Peace Mr. Duvall.

Below is the trailer for the re-mastered Western series "Lonesome Dove" for DVD. It is awesome.!

"The Great Santini" 1979. My absolute favorite performance by Robert Duvall.

The 1989 TV Western Mini-series, "Lonesome Dove." Robert Duvall climbed this to be his favorite acting role. It certainly is his most popular. It's one of my favorites.
