A couple are found murdered in their home which they built together. The 1987 murders were unsolved until now as fresh investigative eyes look at the cold case. The son becomes a prime suspect.

NATIVE HAUTE FASHION SHOW coming to Santa Fe Indian Market 2015.

The video below is the 2014 Fashion show at the Santa Fe downtown plaza. I couldn't make it because I was reporting on the INDIGENOUS FINE ART MARKET which premiered to a large gathering.

On Saturday Aug. 22, 2015 is the NATIVE HAUTE COUTURE Fashion Show at 1p.m. inside the Cathedral Park (open to the public). It will be curated by Amber-Dawn Bear Robe and featuring some of Indian Country's hottest Native Fashion Designers.

THE TRANSPORTER 4: REFUELED opens in U.S. Theaters Sept. 4, 2015

I am a huge fan of THE TRANSPORTER films starring Jason Statham. The second one was preposterously funny, but action packed. I'm looking forward to this new one with a younger actor. The trailer looks way, way cool.

48 HOURS A wife & mother is ambushed at a motel lodge her family owns. She was shot in the head & arm while lying on her bed. Her husband was texting another woman who gave him an ultimatum, "Her or Me?" 48 hours later, the wife is murdered.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION holds on at number #1 at global box office

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION hold's the top U.S. box office for a second week. It also has topped the International box office grabbing $65.5 million. The U.S. total is $108 million. Worldwide box office brings it to $265 million.

MANHATTAN (WGN) is filmed right here in New Mexico. It has been picked up for a 2nd TV season which will begin in October 2015. The SAG Foundation has a conversation series interviewing SAG-AFTRA members.

DATELINE an opera singer's DNA matches to a murder in "Indiscretion"

Hell everyone -- Roscoe is back on EXAMINER with a new title called, ALBUQUERQUE CRIME TV EXAMINER. I still have my old title, but will occasionally write on Native American articles. I am all about crime & murder these days. Thanks for following me.

My first article for my new title is on DATELINE'S murder mystery INDISCRETION. It took 11 years for police to match DNA from a would-be opera singer to a brutal murder of a young woman.

"Amy Winehouse" is now the highest grossing documentary in the UK

Gee, I was never a fan of the now late singer Amy Winehouse. But, the documentary trailer looks good & it is receiving rave reviews across the board. It is now the highest grossing documentary in the United Kingdom reaching $4.9 million.

"Deadline Hollywood" interview with film director William Friedkin

DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD has a great interview with film director William Friedkin. It is a great read for film buffs like myself. William directed classic films like, "The French Connection", "The Exorcist" & "To Live and Die in L.A."

I love this interview. Films have changed so much since the 1970's. William talks about the comic books turned into films which are now "Formula" for box office success. It never used to be like that back in the 1970's when films were completely "Original." "Star Wars" & "Jaws" changed the landscape though with the blockbuster movies.

SANDIA RESORT & CASINO Hamburgers & Nachos each $2 for August 2015.

Hot dogs were $1 dollar last month at the Sandia Casino Deli. It was a success because I was there each week. Sandia now has Hamburgers & Nachos for $2 in the whole month of August 2015. 

I'll see you there because I intend to take advantage of both sales. - Wahoo!

NED BOBKOFF theatre director of DAYSTAR & playwright passes at 81

I was just going to send Rosalie Jones a message for Ned Bobkoff whose health was failing. I wanted to give him my best, but he passed away at age 81. At least I got to talk with him last Spring 2015.

Below is a collage of pictures I made when I performed with the "Daystar Dance Company" back in 1991. Rosalie was the artistic director & choreographer. Ned was our director & I was a would-be dancer. We traveled to North Carolina & I must say we gave Ned a hard time. But, he brought out in us a capable performance.

1991 was a long time ago, but I stayed in touch with Rosalie & Ned over the years. He was always encouraging & positive. Rest easy now. We will always remember you. - Roscoe Pond

YOU-TUBE: Countdown the 1980's top 20 hit songs from 1988

THE COSBY SHOW was the number #1 ranked TV show in the Ratings. This after 4 years on NBC. The number #1 film at the box office was RAIN MAN with Tom Cruise & Dustin Hoffman. 

This top "20" list is according to Billboard magazine that tracks popular hits songs. It was the year of Michael Jackson, Richard Marx & especially George Michael who went solo from the group called, "Wham!" SNL's Dana Carvey spoofed George Michael with funny results. 

My favorite song from 1988 was "Sign Your Name" by Terence Trent D' Arby.

NAME DROPPING in New Mexico is just stupid & doesn't make you important

I hate "Name Dropping." I hate it even worse when Native actors & actresses do it. I've never done it & it is a waste of time. I started up a conversation with a Native actress who proceeded to tell me who she worked with on TV's LONGMIRE & other New Mexico films. I just shook my head while looking at her who proceeded to go on & on about her work in New Mexico. So, I guess she's important now with her background extra work. What got me even more disgusted was that she took photos with a supposed TV star & put it all over Facebook. Really? Who cares?! I abruptly walked away from her. -- Get a Life.

JANE GOT A GUN western was filmed in New Mexico & struggles for release

The film's director dropped out on the first day of shooting. Two major male movie stars exited before production even began. There is no trailer for the western because the theatrical release date has been pushed back several times. Now, "Relativity" files for bankruptcy & releases JANE GOT A GUN from its' holding. They were the film's main distributor along with "The Weinstein Company."

There was an actual preview of the western as film-goers talk about how good the film was among Internet post threads. It stars Natalie Portman who is also one of the film's producers. The production cost a small $15 million and it is still unclear whether "The Weinstien Company" will put it into theaters for 2016. "Relativity" owes its' debtors and is releasing other productions. 

More and more film productions are heading to New Mexico for the tax breaks. Western films have come to the state because of the perfect locations. (Click on the photo below for news).

ALIEN 3 the making of the almost doomed 1992 film production

I just saw ALIEN 3: THE ASSEMBLY CUT which added another 35 minutes. OMFG it makes so much more sense even though I saw the film 6 times when it came out back in 1992. I felt I was the only person who liked it because I'm a huge fan of Sigourney Weaver.

Director, David Fincher was a young & gifted filmmaker who came into a plagued production. There was no finished screenplay & one director was already replaced. 20th CENTURY FOX cut the film to shreds & released Fincher. He wanted nothing to do with the film afterward & didn't take part in "the making of..." documentary.

Ridley Scott (ALIEN 1979) & James Cameron (ALIENS 1986) wanted to come back to the series. FOX then started ALIEN vs. PREDATOR which killed a fascinating Sci-Fi film series. It's just too bad for Fincher because he added an interesting take on the whole Alien idea. The underground setting & camera work was very good.

Director, Neil Blomkamp has revived ALIEN & Sigourney Weaver has come on board for a new production. Below is the documentary on "The Making of ALIEN 3."

 

HBO Mini-series LEWIS & CLARK production has been halted until further notice

Hello everyone -- I read the DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD BLOG every-day. The HBO mini-series LEWIS & CLARK has been shut down until further notice. The director as well as the director of photography will be leaving the production. The extreme weather in Canada has been a big problem. There is no date on when re-shooting will begin. There is a large Native American cast which is executive produced by Tom Hanks & Brad Pitt. (Click on the photo below for news).

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION pulls in $56 million at US box office

I saw this today & thought it was fantastic! I applauded at least 4 times during the whole film. The action sequences were spectacular, especially when Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) hung from the side of that airplane. The under water scenes were kind of claustrophobic. The opera backdrop to all the action was fun to watch. When Ethan took off the mask was when the whole audience laughed & applauded. I would like to see it again. - Wahoo!

Roscoe still waiting for title change over at EXAMINER

Sorry everyone. I'm still waiting on my Title change over at EXAMINER news. I chose my Title too which is geared toward crime & murder.

I've been writing articles for 3 straight years - at least 5 to 6 days each week. So, I took a break all last week. A vacation.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION nabs $20 million on Friday

I'm gonna see this on Sunday because I've been waiting for it. I watched all the good reviews too.I stayed away from the Internet critics that go off the deep-end with their theories. Spare me the crap! Just sit back & enjoy the movie. But, everybody's a critic. Tom Cruise said he is gonna start preparing for MI6 next year. Go for it - because I'm a big fan. I am excited to see this in IMAX. - Wahoo!
