SUNRISE from BREAKING GLASS PICTURES - 2016. (I bought and downloaded movie from Amazon). It is reported that 100,000 girls in India disappear each year. A police detective named Joshi is still dealing with the disappearance of his only daughter Aruna. Him and his wife can't get over it because Aruna has never been found. He runs into an unknown man trying to kidnap a girl. The rain pounds his body as he chases a shadow through the streets.

A lot of girls are kidnapped and trained to go into exotic dancing or prostitution. Joshi is on the edge of discovering a prostitution ring, but he keeps seeing his daughter among these young girls. Yet, it's another matter when he wakes up to face the hard pounding loss he cannot shake. Can his dreams become a reality? "America's Got Talent" 2nd Live show adds 7 more talent acts to semi-final

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT on NBC. America has voted and here are the 7 talent acts heading into the Semi-finals. "The Clairvoyants", "Calysta Bevier", "Sofie Dossi", "Viktor Kee", "Steven Brundage", "Sal Valentinetti" and "Kadie Lynn."

"Sal Valentinetti", "Kadie Lynn" and "ThroWings" had the lowest votes and they became part of the "Dunkin-Save" category. An online live vote was tallied and Sal was instantly voted through. The judges then had to choose between the last two acts. It was a tie and the choice went back to America and "Kadie Lynn" had more votes than "ThroWings."

All my votes went to my favorite "The Clairvoyants." My second favorite "Hara" was eliminated last week. So, my second favorite is now the magnificent juggler "Viktor Kee" who was voted through this week.

Unfortunately, another dance group was not voted through. If the judges see the smallest mistakes in a live show. They will point it out and the American audience will see it too. Every vote counts and usually America gets it right. This is the year of the teen girl singers because four are now heading to the Semi-Finals. I like the 12-year-old country singer Kadie Lynn.

"America's Got Talent" will return on Tuesday Aug. 23, 2016. NBC will Broadcast the "Rio" Summer Olympics for the next two weeks. NBC announced that the host and four judges will return for season 12 in 2017. Nick Cannon, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B.

"Suicide Squad" receive's scathing reviews, but will fans like it?

SUICIDE SQUAD from WARNER BROS. The film opens with 4,225 theaters in the U.S., on Friday Aug. 5, 2016. Movie critics have already lambasted it with negative reviews across the board. "Change.org" had a petition to remove the "Rotten Tomatoes" website because of those reviews. It reached 18,495 signatures, but was shut down by a frustrated fan who says critics don't like Comic Book Super-Hero films. There is a battle going too between fanboys over "DC Comics VS. Marvel Comics." It's getting worse than "Batman Vs. Superman." Nonetheless, "Squad" opened at the Foreign box office and has already nabbed $8.1 million. The production budget climbed to $175 million. See it for yourself and you decide.

"American Gothic" Hawthorne family deals with father as the "silver bells killer"

American Gothic” (CBS) can be seen each Wednesday evening at 10/9 p.m. It aired at 9 p.m. (central time) in Albuquerque, NM on KRQE 13. "The Night Shift" (NBC) nabbed 4.96 overall & 0.8 with adults (9-11 p.m.).

“American Gothic” stars, Juliet Rylance (Alison Hawthorne-Price), Antony Starr (Garrett Hawthorne), Justin Chatwin (Cam Hawthorne), Stephanie Leonidas (Sophie Hawthorne) & Virginia Madsen (Madeline Hawthorne).

The Gross Clinic” opened with Garrett in the hospital after being stabbed by Christina. He tells detective Cutter about his dad Mitchell Hawthorne as the “silver bells killer” (SBK). "Jason Bourne" has action, death, revenge and some redemption

JASON BOURNE from UNIVERSAL PICTURES. First of all, actor Riz Ahmed (Aaron Kalloor) appears in this film. I had to look harder to figure out who he was under that beard. Of course, he portrays "Naz" in the critically acclaimed HBO murder mystery "The Night Of."

Nicky Parsons brings back Jason Bourne after she hacked into a complex CIA computer system. He went off the grid and beats men down within underground fights. He cannot shake his past that involves the murder of his father. Nicky tells him that it goes deeper than just his dad because a new CIA program is being built. She is traced and becomes a target for death. Jason is pulled back into the watchful eye of the CIA and is forced to find out what really happened to his dad.

(I won't give away any spoilers, but this has many non-stop action scenes. What I like about Jason Bourne is the way he turns the tables on his former bosses. They trained him, but he cannot be controlled because he's too smart. Even under cameras, audio and computer devices. The man can't be stopped. That scene inside the Las Vegas convention is classic Bourne. I actually applauded in the theater during that scene. Check out the movie if you can.).

"The Night Of" Glenne Headly on power lawyer Alison Crowe

THE NIGHT OF on HBO. The next episode is this Sunday Aug. 7, 2016 at 9 p.m. It is called, "The season of the witch." The official website called, "medium.com" goes in depth on each episode. Plus, it gives us interviews by the actors and actresses who play their roles. Glenne Headly portrays Alison Crowe who is a female power attorney. In the last episode, she quit defending "Naz" because he didn't take a plea deal of Manslaughter who would get only 15 years in prison. Alison was in this for the publicity because it became a high profile murder case. Glenne's interview has wonderful insight into Alison Crowe.

Tom Schuch New Mexico President of SAG-AFTRA

http://www.sagaftra.org/nm
(From left, Tom Schuch, Cynthia Williams, Mel MacKaron,
Dan Navarro and Cliff Gravel)

By Tom Schuch
New Mexico Local President

"On April 23 and 24, the New Mexico Local was privileged to host SAG-AFTRA Vice President, Recording Artists Dan Navarro both at the annual Albuquerque Film & Music Experience festival and our spring general membership meeting. Over the course of the weekend, these events gave the film, television, voiceover and music communities an opportunity to hear and absorb Dan’s enthusiasm and experience in two intimate settings. Many times in the past, we have booked actors, casting directors and agents to either sit on panels or appear individually at these events. All valuable of course, but to hear from a successful voiceover performer, musician, composer and dedicated SAG-AFTRA member gave the community and our members a great opportunity to learn about facets of our industry that are essential but not often addressed."

"Dan’s enthusiasm was contagious and inspiring over the two days. I could see in people’s eyes that he had invigorated many into pursuing work and opportunities in the world of voiceover and music. He talked about the ease with which voiceover work can be produced through the use of the latest, inexpensive technology, no matter where you are in the world. As often happens at these events, people want to know how the guest got started and how they created a career. He was very open about the difficulty in the infancy of his career and how he tried everything he could in order to create an artistic world for himself."

"His early success as a singer/songwriter with his late songwriting and performing partner Eric Lowen and his persistence and tenacity in the world of voiceover has given him that life. But, the best advice Dan shared when asked, “How do you create and maintain a career in this business?” was to “be the water.” In other words, be fluid and open. Keep your eyes and ears open to every possible opportunity around you and be flexible and ready to try new things. Dan has done so and created for himself a consistent and lucrative entertainment career. The SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Local wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for Dan’s generosity of spirit and knowledge."

An All New "American Gothic" Wednesday August 3, 2016

AMERICAN GOTHIC on CBS. (S01E07). The new episode is called, "The Gross Clinic" which will air at 10/9 p.m.

In the last episode, Garrett Hawthorne was stabbed by Christina while on a camping trip. She found out he was a possible suspect as the "Silver Bells Killer" (SBK). Her father was the last victim of the SBK back in 2002. A police detective told the family that Mitchell Hawthorne's DNA matched from the belt wrapped around the last victim. Madeline doesn't believe her late husband was the killer. Remember, she cut off his oxygen after he had a massive stroke when the last body was found from the SBK. (Gee, a family of killers). Go below for TV Preview.

"The Night of" Naz is hardened by prison who maintains his innocence

THE NIGHT OF on HBO. The Limited-Series part 4. Last night's episode was called, “The Art of War.” The main characters are, “Naz” (Riz Ahmed) and John Stone (John Tuturro). HBO will run repeat episodes after the original airing. Check your listings.

The Art of War.” If you watched closely. “Naz” was told by his lawyer Alison to plead guilty to manslaughter and get only 15 years in prison. He said he didn't kill Andrea and had flashbacks of the night she was killed. Was he set up? Was he drugged and left at the kitchen table while someone stabbed Andrea 22 times? Alison quit as his lawyer and would no longer work for free. The case was turned over to her inexperienced assistant, Chandra.

John Stone does his own investigation and finds out that Andrea had entered drug rehabilitation several times. He also goes to her funeral. His camera records Andrea's stepfather in the middle of a heated argument with an unknown man. Is her stepfather a possible suspect?

Prison is beginning to harden “Naz” who finds a possible friend. It turns out that his only ally is Freddy who just wants to use him. “Naz” is sliced with a knife and hot water is thrown on him. Can Freddy really help him behind bars? After all, he does have underground connections outside those prison walls.
