Whatever remains, however improbable.” Previously, Joan Watson was attacked and beaten by Michael who is a serial killer. She ended up in the hospital after defending herself by stabbing him in the shoulder. Michael ended up murdered and the FBI believes Watson is the prime suspect.

The FBI questions Watson whom they believe was overly obsessed with Michael. They think she wanted him dead. He leaves a phone message and makes it sound like Watson is attacking him in his home. Michael tries to frame her and Watson asks for a lawyer. Sherlock and Joan ask each other if they killed Michael. They both deny it and decide to search for the killer themselves. The FBI ordered them off the murder case and Captain Gregson cannot help them. Can Sherlock and Watson’s partnership survive this?

(There is a shocker in this finale and it is unbelievable).
