ABC 20/20 'Chippendales Murder' has Greed, Racism, Money, Sex and a Hitman

20/20 on ABC. I usually don't watch this crime show because it is always over the top. Plus, too many hosts as narrators. (Just my criticsm. TV fans watch for that very reason). There are some intriguing episodes though.

"Chippendales Murder" was the season premiere episode that aired last Fall on Oct. 8, 2021. It tells the story of how the male-strip dance craze began at Los Angeles in 1979. Steve Banerjee created "Chippendales" and turned it into a famous brand-name. It all ended for Steve who committed suicide in 1993.

The name of the "Chippendales" still rolls on.

I won't give anything away.... There is a dark side. It involves money, greed and a hitman. There is a murder and also an attempted murder.

  • A film is in the works starring Dev Patel who will portray Steve Bannerjee. It is still in development with screenwriters.
  • A British documentary was released through Amazon called, "Curse of the Chippendales."
  • The TV show, "The FBI Files" has an episode called, "Backstage Murder."
