Will Smith apologizes to comedian Chris Rock after 'Slapping' him on Oscar night

The news spread like "Wild-Fire" across the Internet by mid-day on Monday March 28, 2022. The night before - on the live telecast of the Academy Awards. Millions of TV viewers watched Will Smith walk on stage and physically "slap" Chris Rock across the face. Many thought it was a staged comedy sketch, but it wasn't. It was real. Chris made a "lame" joke aimed at Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

By Monday afternoon. Will Smith posted an apology on his "Instagram" account to Chris Rock.

The Academy is looking into the altercation along with the SAG-AFTRA union. Both organizations disagree with "physical violence."

Comedian and actor Jim Carrey talked with "CBS Mornings" and was "sickened" by the standing ovation Will Smith received after winning the best actor Oscar. It was Just an hour after he "hit" Chris Rock. Jim's interview is below.

Basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar says that Will Smith perpetuated, "Stereotypes in the Black Community."

This is what we know for sure... Will Smith lost a lot fans over this. Plus, his actions over-shadowed his Oscar win as best actor for "King Richard." The video of him "slapping" Chris Rock will live on the internet - forever.
