Screen Legend Kirk Douglas talks new film "Trumbo" & the Hollywood Blacklist

TRUMBO is now playing in select movie theaters in the U.S. It will open wide on Thanksgiving 2015. It's about movie screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) who was blacklisted by Hollywood in the late 1940's & 1950's after refusing to admit to being a Russian Communist sympathizer. He wrote films under another name until Kirk Douglas put Trumbo's real name on the movie credits at the end of SPARTACUS 1960 in which he wrote the screenplay.

Bryan Cranston is receiving talk of an Oscar nomination as best actor for channeling Dalton Trumbo so distinctly. Kirk Douglas who is now 98-years-old has seen TRUMBO & is talking about it. He sent a letter to the Entertainment Blog DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD

He also wrote a book in 2012 called I AM SPARTACUS: MAKING A FILM, BREAKING THE BLACKLIST.
