Roscoe Pond was a "Native American Culture Examiner" and "Albuquerque TV crime Examiner." He had written 1200 articles over four years at "Examiner.com"
"Examiner.com" became a part of a marketing program called AXS in 2014 which is based at Los Angeles, CA. After "Examiner" shuts down on July 10, 2016. AXS will handle only local 1500 staff and writers for music, entertainment, culture and sports.
"Examiner" spokesman Justin Jimenez says, "This was not a decision that was made lightly. We have been
wanting to move the focus of our business to AXS.com, and now we’ve done
that. To
be around nine years and have the footprint and impact that
Examiner.com has had is a significant thing. But in the
media environment today, it takes a good amount of investment to be
competitive.”
"Examiner.com" climbed to 47 million readers each month since it was launched back in 2008. It also had thousands of freelance writers.
