“Marco Polo” can be seen streaming
online over at “Netflix.” The seventh episode of season 2 is
called, “Lost Crane.” It stars, Lorenzo Richelmy (Marco Polo),
Benedict Wong (Kublai Khan), Joan Chen (Empress Chabi), Remy Hii
(Prince Jingim) & Tom Wu (Hundred Eyes).
“Lost Crane” opened with the female
warrior (Michelle Yeoh) revealing herself to “Hundred Eyes.” Her
name is “Lotus” and they were once lovers. She was the protector
of the boy emperor until Kublai Khan killed him. She asks “Eyes”
to choose between the Khan or her and if he chooses the Khan. They will
fight to the death. Kaidu attacks the village of a Chieftain who
supports Khan. Ahmad suggests that Prince Jingim seek out Kaidu's death.
He also tells Mei Lin that he sold her daughter to Nayan who waits
with an army to kill Jingim. Ahmad wants his father's throne and
Marco warns Jingim of an ambush.
(The outstanding performance here is
Benedict Wong as Kublai Khan. He deserves an Emmy nomination).
