“Marco Polo” can be seen streaming
online over at “Netflix.” TV season 2 has begun and the second
episode is called, “Hug.” It stars, Lorenzo Richelmy (Marco
Polo), Benedict Wong (Kublai Khan), Joan Chen (Empress Chabi), Remy
Hii (Prince Jingim) & Tom Wu (Hundred Eyes).
“Hug” opened with Mei Lin and Marco
bringing the boy emperor back to Kublai Khan. The mysterious female
warrior (Michelle Yeoh) follows them and wants the boy. Kaidu is
ambitious and wants to be elected as the new leader of the Mongol
kingdom. Kublai Khan hopes that the chieftains in each province
will support him. Christianity spreads among the Mongol people. Marco
is shocked that Kokachin has married Prince Jingim. (He fell in love
with her in the 1st TV season).
The production design is excellent
and the period costumes are exact. Joan Chen is striking as well as
beautiful.
