"S-TOWN" from SERIAL and THIS AMERICAN LIFE. A man named John had called a New York reporter. He asked this reporter to investigate a possible murder in a small town at Alabama. John called his home city, "S-Town" (S*** Town). The small community is filled with real country "bumpkins."
S-TOWN is a 7-Part Podcast that I had "binge-listened" to, and was fascinated by John and all the colorful characters in his town. The reporter investigated the possible murder which led to suicide. That also led to greed surrounding "Gold."
