'Edge of Darkness' BBC TV 1985 'Burden of Proof'

EDGE OF DARKNESS from BBC TV (1985). The third episode from this TV mini-series is called, “Burden of Proof.”

They called him only by, “Lowe.” He was put in prison years ago by inspector Ronald Craven. Lowe came back to town to kill Craven, but his daughter Emma was shot instead. The police tracked down Lowe and he soon falls from a 6-story building and is critically injured. Ronald talks to him in the hospital and gets another man’s name from him. Who is that man?

A local official is set to buy “Nightmoor” which is the local waste facility. Emma and her environmentalist group broke into that facility. It’s all about plutonium that could be bought and sold for money or trade. Is plutonium being transported on those trains leaving town? The CIA is working with men connected to her majesty’s secret service. They tracked Emma to her dad Ronald. Emma’s boyfriend is murdered along with a CIA operative who watched him. What is going on?

Note: This is one of the best murder mysteries I’ve seen in a while. It has a great story, writing, character and editing. I’ve never seen this from 1985. A really good TV mini-series.
