Albuquerque thunder storm is beginning of Fall 2015

I just walked into the convention center at downtown Albuquerque. I turned around & there was a huge down pour of rain. The Monsoon season had already past. So, It looked like a sign of Fall 2015. The bottom picture has the rain & wind so powerful that people went inside.

Robert Redford portrays Dan Rather in TRUTH

It was called at the time "Rathergate." Dan Rather was the news anchor for the "CBS EVENING NEWS." He lost that position & his producers also lost their jobs. This after a news segment saying President George W. Bush went AWOL from his post during the Vietnam War. That story would later be questioned by critics as false. 

Now, Robert Redford is portraying Dan Rather in this movie about that incident. The real Dan Rather gave his blessings for filmmakers to make the movie. It opens in theaters Oct. 16, 2015. I can't wait to see it. 

COLD JUSTICE 10 suspects don't recall double murders IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: PART 2

COLD JUSTICE Investigators thought all along that the 3 homicides were connected with the 2-part episode called, IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: PART 1 & 2. One woman stabbed & burned to death. Two men had their throats slit & bodies burned. It was just 5 months a part in a small town. This was back in 1992 & after more than 20 years. The 10 suspects don't recall the murders because of so many years of drug use. Witnesses, family & friends are interviewed. Then, there is a surprise confession.

COLD JUSTICE TV season finale of 3rd TV season has a 2-part episode. 3 people were murdered 5 months a part in a small town. All dead victims were burnt after getting killed. The investigative team tries to connect all 3 murders & bring a conviction with 10 possible suspects.

Update 2015 film version of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN has wrapped

The classic western THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN which starred Yul Brynner has been updated with Denzel Washington. The film has wrapped shooting in New Mexico. I don't recognize the Native American in the film from the on-set photos.

The always funny Carol Burnett will receive a lifetime achievement award from SAG-AFTRA in 2016 during the SAG awards. A much deserved award. Below is a famous comedy sketch from the popular 1970's TV Variety Show.

Debra Messing in THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA on NBC

I've decided to add THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA on TV recap news articles. Why? Because it's about murder & I am all about homicide. I binge watched 6 episodes of the first TV season over at HULU. Debra Messing (Laura) raises two boys & handles a crew in her police precinct. That includes her husband Josh Lucas (Jake). There is comic relief against the back drop of murder in New York. I really liked it. People thought it would be cancelled by NBC, but fans are tuning in. The 2nd TV season starts this Wednesday night.

Roscoe to recap 2015 Fall TV season crime & murder shows

Hey everybody -- the Fall TV season is beginning for 2015. I will be recapping my favorite crime TV shows which includes -- HAWAII FIVE-0 -- PERSON OF INTEREST -- ELEMENTARY. So, stay tuned...,

I will still recap my favorite crime shows DATELINE & 48 HOURS which will begin their Fall TV seasons too. I'm excited.

I recap these TV shows because I search for story lines for my native movie screenplays. I'm beginning a new screenplay filled with natives, murder & mystery.

1985 Billboard magazine's top 20 pop songs

Madonna burst into pop culture with her belly button on display under ripped clothes. It really was a phenomenon as teen girls dressed like that all year round. TV stars copied that look later & showed their belly buttons at award shows through their gowns. Madonna's LIKE A VIRGIN record song was huge. I mean huge...!

MURDER, SHE WROTE on CBS became a hit with older audiences & ran for an astonishing 12 TV seasons. Angela Lansbury was nominated for her lead work in the TV show, but never won an Emmy award. Not one single Emmy. -- 60 MINUTES on CBS is still running - but back in 1985 - it was a monster TV hit with the old, older audiences. Nothing stopped the 1 hour program on Sunday nights. It trounced all the competition when there was only 3 major networks, ABC, NBC & CBS. 

George Michael was going to leave the group WHAM & it really was a big deal. Their biggest hit was CARELESS WHISPER. 2 years later, Michael was the biggest pop-star on the planet with FAITH. I'd have to say my favorite song of 1985 was IN MY HOUSE by the Mary Jane Girls. It would start every house party at my college. A real close second is EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD by Tears for Fears. I wore out the cassette singles of both songs. Remember, there were no CD's back in 1985. We had cassette boom boxes. Hah!

LONGMIRE season finale has someone wanting to kill Walt...,

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE REZ..., is the 10th episode of the 4th TV season of LONGMIRE. And I must say that - it isn't as dramatic as the season 3 finale. Walt does find another woman in his life & it isn't Vic. They had worked so close together that it looked more like a friendship than anything else. Vic was forced to confront him in that ally because she needed to find out where she stood. She now has to sort out her feelings & get back to work. 

Jacob is a manipulator who is obviously using casino money to get Henry & Cady on his side. Cady actually takes the $750,000 to be a legal consultant on the Rez. Henry can't do anything right now because in the end, Mathias has him in handcuffs. Henry did kill, but there has to be proof. He really did help Gabrielle who was said to turn into her spirit - the red tail hawk who actually flew away.

As for Walt who has finally found a beautiful & kind woman. Her obsessed patient torched her van out of the blue. While they were on the bed getting intimate. Was it that patient who broke down Walt's front door? Or was it all the men & women who hate Walt? I say it's Walker Browning because he certainly is a desperate person. Another cliffhanger & I hope there is a season 5 because I thought season 4 was excellent.

LONGMIRE season finale 10th episode is another cliffhanger

I just watched the 10th & finale episode of the 4th TV season of LONGMIRE. My TV recap is coming soon. I think I know who burst into Walt's home at the end. It was Walker Browning who was injured while trying to capture Gabrielle. He tried to protect his job & cover up the murder of one of his worker's. Two of them raped Gabrielle & got away with it legally. 

Yep, I think Vic is still hung up on Walt as he moves on with the blonde therapist. Vic even sleeps with Aemon to quell her needs. Will she get over Walt? As for the deputy position left open by Branch. Well - talk about drama - concerning the young men. I think Aemon deserves it even though Vic doesn't want him to have it. 

And poor Henry..., arrested again, but he set out to help his Indian people. He guided Gabrielle in finding her way after a double rape. Henry became Hector even though Mathias thinks he's an accessory to murder during that party, in the forest, on the reservation border. 

I hope there is a season 5, but I must say. Season 4 was the best of the best.

 

LONGMIRE non-indians try to get away with crime on Indian reservation

Well, what an interesting TV season with LONGMIRE. It's unbelievable when there is no justice after white men commit crimes on the reservation & never get punished for it. But, when Gabrielle (Julia Jones) takes the law into her own hands. She deserves death on her own Indian reservation. I think Henry was just trying to help his Indian people by bringing back Hector who spent his life helping the helpless.

As the episode SHOTGUN played out. Henry got shot & was still willing to protect Gabrielle. She spent her life believing she deserved everything that went wrong including being raped by two white men. On the other side, Walt only wants the truth & the law in Absaroka county to protect everyone including Gabrielle.

The reservation victim, the sheriff, the hateful white boys & Henry - had to clash. There is justice, but the consequences are pretty hard to swallow. In the end, Indians have to help Indians physically & spiritually. Henry did the right thing as Hector which Gabrielle finally saw as a sign of hope in her life.

Gabrielle & Henry are fugitives on the run in LONGMIRE

My TV recap is coming soon. LONGMIRE episode GUNSHOT. Give Lou Diamond Phillips an Emmy award for that scene with him taking pliers to pull out the bullet. This is truly a modern western with wide open spaces & people doing desperate things to live!

Vic jumped that deputy's "bones" & she suspects Walt is seeing a new woman. He is starting to date the blonde therapist. The new deputy Zack is being stalked by Monty who was the other primary candidate for deputy. Psycho.

Henry & Gabrielle go in search of a Crow Medicine Woman & they just might disappear. Episode 10 looks to be excellent online streaming TV.

 (Henry had to ditch his reliable truck to go on the run in GUNSHOT episode).

Johnny Depp goes villian in BLACK MASS

They all worked on their Boston accents for this new gangster film BLACK MASS. Johnny Depp look pretty menacing.

LONGMIRE has the best TV season in writing...,

LONGMIRE: Well, I was quite surprised that Gabrielle showed up with a gun. It looked like Henry was trying to live up to Hector's way of life, where he helps the helpless Indians on the reservation. It is very admirable of Henry, but I don't think he expected Gabrielle to take matters into her own hands. Walt & Vic were arresting the man who actually murdered Gabrielle's first rapist. They were all at the party on the reservation. Gabrielle dropped the gun she shot & Henry was only trying to protect her when Walt showed up in the dark. I Had A Cow! - when Walt shot at Henry's shadow when he ran away through the forest.

LONGMIRE episode HECTOR LIVES Walt shoots gun at Henry's shadow

HECTOR LIVES on LONGMIRE. My TV recap is coming soon. The question remains, "Did Henry take up Hector's job in helping his Indian people?" It is unclear until the end of this episode. Someone has killed one of Gabrielle's rapist's whose death looks like an accident. Walt knows Henry & confronts him about Hector coming back to life.

The surprise is at this forest party near the Reservation. Walt & Vic show up to arrest someone for murder. Henry shows up & Gabrielle does too with a gun. It goes off & Walt runs through the trees to see what's going on. He shoots his rifle at Henry's shadow in the forest. 

This is the best TV season of LONGMIRE. In my opinion of course...,

THE SHAMAN movie trailer is a not Native American stereotype either

Hah...! I thought this was about a Native American. I guess my mind is programmed to stereotypes.

 

LONGMIRE episode HIGHWAY ROBBERY leads to Indian casino & murder

My TV recap is coming soon. I'm a happy camper because Ally Walker has joined the cast of LONGMIRE as a therapist. I knew Walt was going to ask her out & they both have chemistry. Ally is sexy as all-get-out. I liked Lizzie for Walt because she was funny. But that ship has sailed after season 2. Walt & Vic were attracted to each other & she tried to get closer in season 4's first episode. But...,

I have to admit, I don't like officer Mathias because he is always so angry. The racism on the reservation is evident which is getting tiresome. Cady goes to see Mathias & the secretary calls him & says, "there's a white girl to see you." Geez, give it a rest, but there are many natives like that in 2015. 

I like it that Henry & Walt's friendship is still intact because they understand each other. I laugh-out-loud when Henry always in-advertantly hits Walt physically. The TV writer's keep close to the novels & I love it!

LONGMIRE episode THE CALLING BACK on NETFLIX

Well, the Cheyenne mother in this episode "the Calling Back" is angry & a victim. She pushes that onto her own daughter after she is raped by a white male. She teaches her to "shut up" because there will be no justice. It's real sad, but there are Native women like this today. A powerful episode on LONGMIRE.

THE CALLING BACK episode of LONGMIRE has Cheyenne women as generational victims

My TV recap is coming soon at Examiner News. All I'm going to say is "Unbelievable!" The 6th episode "The Calling Back" shows us that Cheyenne women are still victims of white men through the generations. These native women are taught to "shut up" because they will never see justice because white men have the power. This will make you angry because a native mother teaches her daughter how to play the victim just like her ancestors. And all that Walt, Vic & Cady can do is try to help.

Wow, you can see the anger that goes back generations. Especially in Malachi who hides his anger under sarcastic remarks. Tribal officer Mathias is always angry too. There are so many natives like him & just like the mother. The writers took guts to tackle this subject of racism, power & the powerless.
