'Endeavour' Season 3 opens with 'The Great Gatsby' type story wrapped in murder

ENDEAVOUR on PBS Masterpiece. (S3E1). The first episode is called, “Ride.” The final TV ratings garnered 6.84 million TV viewers overall. This is the prequel to the popular “Inspector Morse” TV series.

“Ride.” Constable Morse served time in jail for a crime he didn’t commit. Inspector “Thursday” was shot and survived. Both uncovered police corruption of one of their bosses. That case is sealed for 50 years by the police department. Morse gets out of jail and is on suspension, but decides to move on from detective work. “Thursday” goes back to his job.

There is a murder of a young lady who disappeared from a carnival. She is involved with a group of adults who live near a lake where Morse has a cabin. He is intrigued by the murder and asks questions of his own. It leads him to a man who is a dare devil and who wants to impress a pretty blonde, but she is married. (The story resembles, “The Great Gatsby.”). There is another murder…,

(Note: I stopped guessing who the killer was because I keep getting it wrong.).
