Last night's episode of 48 HOURS was called DEAR, SAVANNA. A mother is finally arrested after kidnapping her daughter 20 years ago. She fled to several foreign countries & changed her identity plus that of her daughter. The FBI finally caught up with the mother who spent only 20 months in jail, but is not allowed to leave the U.S. Her daughter still lives in Australia.
The mother lost custody after a bitter battle after her divorce. You can hear her anger aimed at the U.S. Laws, but it was really aimed at her husband. 20 years later & she still thinks she is in the right after robbing a father's right to know his daughter. This woman did a selfish, selfish thing all because she couldn't handle a judge's decision as a mature adult. All she had to do was prove to the courts that she was a capable mother no matter what was said about her. It was all about hurting the father & she did it for 20 years.
