48 HOURS on CBS. Last night’s special episode was called, “Death by Text” and it aired Friday evening at 8/7 p.m. The court verdict in this manslaughter case was handed down during the day on Friday June 16, 2017. (Erin Moriarty reported). “TV by the numbers” tracks TV ratings and they have no information on this episode’s numbers.
In the overnight TV ratings. “America’s Got Talent” (NBC) grabbed 4.41 million TV viewers overall. It reached 0.8 million TV viewers in the all-important 18 to 49 adult demographic (repeat). “Shark Tank” (ABC) nabbed 3.54 overall & 0.7 with adults (repeat). “MacGyver (CBS) aired in certain markets and garnered 4.24 overall & 0.7 with adults (repeat).
“Death by Text.” Conrad Roy had spoken into his computer camera admitting that he suffered from depression. He just graduated from high school and was getting ready to work with his dad. His truck was discovered with his dead body inside it. He died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Police called it suicide until they looked at his iPhone. They found disturbing “Text” messages to and from his friend Michelle Carter. She was 35 miles away and it appeared that she encouraged Conrad to commit suicide. Police investigators read thousands of those “Text” messages. Michelle was charged with manslaughter…,

Michelle should have got life in prison. She pushed and pushed him to commit suicide, instead of trying to talk him out of it, and calling the cops, to help him. She is a piece of work... she might as well pulled the trigger. My heart goes out to his family, and most to him, I prayed that God will forgive him. I would have helped him.
